Church of Pentecost Chairman Education Foundation (COPCEF) Launched

The Church of Pentecost Chairman Education Foundation (COPCEF) was launched on Sunday, 8th September 2019 between the hours of 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at PIWC Kokomlele (ATTC). Some invited guests who graced the occasion are as follows: CoP Executive Council Members, CoP Area Heads, PUC Council Members, Hon. Elizabeth Sackey and Rev. Dr Kwaku Frimpong and Heads of some banks such as Stanbic Bank and Prudential Bank.

COPCEF which is founded by the Chairman of The Church Of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, was set up mainly to break the barrier of financial difficulties in the attainment of education. In his opening remarks he said “this initiative will support students who are struggling to meet the financial demands that comes with tertiary education at PUC.”

He also stated that after his reign as the Chairman of CoP, his successor will continue with the policies he has laid down and sustain the project.

The Rector of PUC, Aps. Dr. Daniel Walker, encouraged everyone present to give generously to support the worthy cause and suggested that the act of giving has become a tradition adopted by members of CoP and associates.

The event was a success; members from all CoP Areas and across boarders honored their invitation. The Chairman urged all present to serve as ambassadors of education and to project a Christ-like attitude of giving and supporting the needy as Christ demonstrated.

He emphasized that the COPCEF was a sustainable goal envisioned to be achieved in the next ten years. He further stated that in line with vision 2023, a percentage of Areas’ designated Internally Generated Funds (IGF) to the Districts will be used as scholarship funds to sponsor student members to further their education at PUC.

The leadership of the church is hopeful that this intervention will also contribute to increasing enrollment at Pentecost University College
