CHAIRMAN’s EDUCATION FOUNDATION (COPCEF) POLICY AND PROCEDURE.

1.0 INTRODUCTION:
The Scholarship is part of a broader framework within the Foundation. Generally, the foundation seeks to:

• Establish a viable endowment fund for the sustainability of Pentecost University.
• Raise enough Funds to make the University affordable for needy students.
• Expand the Infrastructure of the University.

2.0 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
To be eligible for a scholarship/bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Church Membership: Applicant may be an active member of The Church of Pentecost, with a proven track record of involvement and dedication to their local church community. The form must be endorsed by the Presiding Elder, District Pastor or Area Scholarship Committee Chairman, who has been appointed by the Area head.
Non-members of The Church of Pentecost are also eligible to apply, provided they have gained admission to Pentecost University. They must have their forms endorsed by the Dean of Students.
2. Academic Excellence: Applicants who are continuing students must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better. Applicants who are freshers must have an aggregate of 20 or better in WASSCE or its equivalent qualification from other fields or nations approved by the university. Academic results, transcripts, or equivalent documentation will be required as evidence.
3. Educational Pursuit: Applicants must be admitted into any of Pentecost University Programs.
4. Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate need. Documentations, such as a detailed statement of income by his/her parent/guardians and expenses, must be submitted.
5. Persons With Disabilities: Special preference would be given to Persons with Disabilities.
6. Non candidate: Applicant must make sure he or she is not a beneficiary of any scholarship, both in the Church and outside the Church.

3.0 APPLICATION PROCESS:
Application for COPCEF scholarship shall be launched each year in the month of January. Below are the steps for Application;

3. Read the Procedures and Download the endorsement form: Download the consent form. The form must be endorsed by your Presiding Elder, District Pastor or Area Scholarship Committee Chairman, who has been appointed by the Area head. 4. Proceed to fill the forms online: Applicants are to fill and submit the required document such as passport picture, academic certificates, transcripts and signed endorsement form.

4.0 RENEWAL AND MONITORING:
Scholarship recipients are required to maintain a satisfactory academic record throughout the duration of their studies. The University, under the guidance of the Foundation, will conduct periodic assessments to ensure recipients continue to meet requirements. Results of the assessments shall be passed on to the members of the Board, whether meetings are held or not.

The Church of Pentecost Chairman Education Foundation reserves the right to modify or terminate the scholarship scheme or rules at any time, based on its own processes and availability of funds. The specific criteria for termination of a scholarship from the Church of Pentecost Chairman Education Foundation (COPCEF) may vary depending on the policies and guidelines set by the Foundation. However, here are some general reasons that could potentially result in the termination of a scholarship:
• Academic performance: Failing to meet the academic requirements set by the Foundation, such as maintaining a certain grade point average (GPA) or failing multiple courses, could lead to the deactivation of the scholarship. Poor-performing students shall be given written warnings twice before the termination of a beneficiary’s scholarship. Exceptional cases must be determined and stated ahead of the award of scholarships (e.g., long-term illness of the student, hospital admission, etc., known to PU).
• Misconduct or disciplinary issues: Engaging in serious misconduct, violating the code of conduct or ethical standards established by the Church and the university, or being involved in any illegal activities may result in the deactivation of the scholarship. In cases of misconduct at the University, the school’s disciplinary board shall investigate and report with recommendations to COPCEF.
• Non-compliance with scholarship terms: Not fulfilling the specific obligations or requirements outlined in the scholarship agreement, such as attending mandatory meetings or events, providing regular progress reports, or participating in university service, could lead to scholarship termination.
• Change in eligibility status: If a student no longer meets the eligibility criteria for the scholarship, such as transferring to a different institution or changing the major to one that is not supported by the Foundation, the scholarship may be terminated.
• Failure to communicate or provide updates: Neglecting to inform the Foundation about changes in contact information, academic status, or other relevant updates may result in scholarship termination, as the Foundation relies on accurate information to maintain the scholarship.
